Feldenkrais and general health

Pain, limited movement, joint and muscle damage are often due to the fact that people have either not learnt sufficiently, or have forgotten how to distribute strain over their whole body. But this can be relearnt at any age.

If there is improvement, then the large muscles at the centre of the body do most of the work, whilst the smaller ones on the periphery are needed for fine-tuning. All parts of the body will feel connected and move into an appropriate interaction – which corresponds to the way the body would naturally function.

In a well-organised body the work done by the large muscles is guided by weaker muscles through the bones to the goal without much of the strength getting lost on the way.
